Pajama Day

The last Friday before winter break was an early release day, which meant fun activities only, so the teachers made it a pajama day and invited parents to come in and read stories.

Vivian felt that she needed not only pajamas, but also a pillow and a blanket.  She was generous about sharing them though.

I brought in a bunch of books, and some of Vivian's friends wanted to hear How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  I was getting ready to read it, when Vivian insisted that she wanted to read it.  It's pretty long, and I wasn't sure if she was up to it, but I figured it couldn't hurt to try.  She proceeded to read the whole book with rhythm and expression, and I was beyond words with pride.

She has made so much progress in reading already this year that this seemed like a perfect way to close her 2014 education.
