Day at Sea

Our first full day on the ship was a sea day, but, as always with Disney, there was plenty to do.  First on the agenda was a character breakfast.  We got some good pictures on the way to the restaurant.

Elena was very concerned about Han Solo frozen in carbonite.

We explained that he was going to be okay.

The food at breakfast was good, and it was nice to sit and wait for the characters to come to us rather than standing in line waiting for them.  The girls had fun, and even Dad got in on the action when his favorite character, Goofy, showed up.

After breakfast, we tried to get a nice family picture, but of course, Elena the stubborn refused to cooperate.

After breakfast, Mom and I took Elena to go shopping and see Pluto.  Mom had gotten Elena a collection of Spiderverse toys, but of course Elena wanted more toys.  Luckily, she wasn't interested in the very expensive crystal ones.

She got to show Pluto her toys and get a picture.  I decided to get a picture too, since I do love Pluto.

Elena's new toy, a cruise themed Minnie Mouse, got the seat of honor on the way back up to the room.

The pool area was really crowded, so after lunch, we decided to go see Mary Poppins Returns in the big theater. Vivian was very excited, since we hadn't gotten to see it when it was in Bogotá.

Mom really wanted to see it too.  Everyone enjoyed it except for Elena who got bored about 3/4 of the way through.  I didn't want everyone else to suffer, so I took her out of the theater.  I checked to see what else was going on and found a meet and greet with Olaf, who Elena was perfectly happy to stand in line for 20 minutes to see.  She can't sit through a movie, but she's a champ at standing in line.  She got a nice warm hug as a reward at the end of it.

That night was formal night, so the girls got dressed up for a fancy picture with Minnie.

After their fancy picture though, they got into their PJs and got to enjoy a room service dinner and a movie while the adults went to Remy for dinner.  We'd been to Paolo on the other ships, but this was our first time at Remy.  It did not disappoint.  First of all, because we were a larger group, they put us in the wine room, so we had our own private dining area.  Both our head waiter and a our sommelier were fantastic.  They started us off with a fancy champagne cocktail.

There were two wine pairing menus, and Jeff and I each tried one.  It was one of the best meals we have ever had.  I have pictures of all the wines and most of the foods, but pictures just can't do it justice.  We had so much fun.  Since my parents aren't going to be able to be with us on my birthday, they told the wait staff that they wanted to celebrate early, so at the end of the meal, I was presented with a giant silver egg.

Inside was a delicious chocolate birthday cake for all of us to share.

It was all just wonderful.  The girls did well in the room by themselves, and they were both asleep by the time we got back.  It was a great day at sea.
