Cozumel

Our first port was Cozumel.  We had stopped here on our last cruise, but hadn't really gotten farther than the port.  This time, we went for a full Mayan adventure.  The first stop was some Mayan ruins on the island.

We had a guide who explained all kinds of things about the Mayans and the ruins.  Unfortunately, I didn't get to hear any of it, because Elena didn't want to stay and listen, so instead I wandered with her while she made up stories about the rocks.

Eventually we joined up with the rest of our group.

The next stop was a place called Discover Mexico.  It had a museum, small scale models of major Mexican sights, and lunch.

Before lunch though, the kids, and any adults who were interested, got to swing at the piñata.

The girls got plenty of candy, and then, to top off their sugar intake, our final stop was a chocolate factory.

We got to watch a demonstration on how chocolate used to be prepared and sample it.  Then there was some time to purchase chocolate themed drinks and treats as well as pose for pictures with the parrots.

Back on the ship, we got ready for pirate night.  Mom and Dad got in the spirit of things.

Generally though, we're not big pirate people, so we enjoyed the fireworks and called it a night.  It was a long day, but a fun one.
