Hanging Out with Safta and Grandpa

My birthday is next week, but we're traveling, so my parents came to visit for the week before.  They showed up just in time to see Vivian's brilliant performance in the Talent Show, and then we spent the weekend having some adventures outside of the city.

First, we took them to the Airbnb in Villeta we had stayed at a while ago.  The pool is perfect for the girls, and we all enjoyed the warmth.

The girls had picked out new twinsie bathing suits, and they were thrilled to get to try them out.

We also brought Sorry to play, and I taught them how to play Solitaire when the grown ups needed a break.

We only stayed one night, but Elena was up at six in the morning, ready to take advantage of the pool.

Viv got up a bit later, and they got some swimming in before we left.

We also got to visit with the house's doggies.

Elena insisted on one final hammock swing.  She decided the hammock was like wings, and she was a "fat angel".  We were cracking up.

Our plan for the rest of the day was a leisurely lunch at Granja Tenjo which was on the way home.  This time we asked to be seated on the minigolf side.  It wasn't exactly minigolf.  You got wooden mallets and colored ping pong balls, but the girls had a great time regardless.

They ate well, and then went to visit the animals and feed them too.  The final treat was ice cream from the special ice cream booth.

We headed home happy and relaxed from our weekend in the country.  Mom and Dad had a couple more days before they had to go home, so they spent them playing with the girls and taking us out to lunch.

Mussels and mango juice are a family favorite :-)  All good things must come to an end though.  Their flight was early in the morning, so they left the girls goodbye notes.  Elena has been reading and writing up a storm.  Not only did she read the note herself, she worked through her feelings about it through writing.

It's always sad to see them go, but we're looking forward to spending the summer with them.  June is not that far away.
