She fell in love with Disney Tsum Tsums on the cruise, and asked for a Tsum Tsum birthday this year. I got her a Tsum Tsum shirt, and let her wear it instead of her uniform on her birthday, since I knew her teacher wouldn't mind. She also requested chocolate cupcakes, so I baked a bunch and brought them to school to share with her friends.
Her teacher (who is awesome!) let them watch Tsum Tsum cartoons while they ate their cupcakes. The cartoons are actually perfect, because there are no words, so all of her classmates, even the ones who are still learning English, could all enjoy them together.
The finishing touch was a sheet of Tsum Tsum stickers for each kid. It wasn't anything fancy, but Elena loved being the center of attention, and the other kids were thrilled with the combination of chocolate cake, cartoons, and stickers.
That afternoon we had just enough time between school and swimming to do another round of happy birthday at home, this time with presents.
Elena got a new Tsum Tsum towel and a new art easel. She also got some fun grandparent presents. Her favorite was the story blocks, which she and Jeff had a lot of fun playing with.
Once we set the easel up, both girls got to enjoy it.
Painting is more of a balcony activity though.
Every day, Elan keeps finding a way to work the fact that she is now four into the conversation. I think she's as amazed by it as the rest of us.
